Palais Chotek Hotel

Palais Chotek in Vienna

From the heart of Vienna, we present this elegant 19th-century historic building, now transformed into the luxurious Hotel Palais Chotek. Designed in the Neo-Viennese Renaissance style, the building was once home to the renowned furniture company Friedrich Otto Schmidt, which collaborated with leading figures such as architect Adolf Loos.
The hotel features 164 rooms and suites where classical and contemporary influences coexist effortlessly. Costura lounge chairs, upholstered in the green tones of Viennese Modernism, bring warmth and character to the interiors. Together with Eclipse tables, they create a welcoming sitting area in every room.
The meeting spaces have been furnished with Lau tables and Laclasica chairs, while the conference room is equipped with Gas chairs, providing a comfortable and functional setting for professional gatherings.

The working spaces have been designed to be warm and inviting.

The restauration has taken more than seven years and it has been done with love and respect to the heritage of the palace.

Costura armchair

Costura is a modular system of sofas and armchairs. The name Costura refers to the noble tradition of tailoring that has guided the design process. A sofa with a difference that emphasizes the seating area and minimizes the space used for arms and frame. A surprising design that reflects timelessness without losing its innovative spirit.

Laclasica chair

Laclasica is an extraordinarily comfortable chair that combines the hallmarks of Jesús Gasca’s designs. It is a chair of great visual lightness that incorporates cutting-edge technology that goes unnoticed at first glance. Its expressive curves, which adapt to the body, are achieved by mixing 3D moulded wood and solid wood. A large piece of die-cast aluminium, hidden under the seat, joins all the parts together. The result is an elegant and timeless design. Curves for your comfort.

Smithsonian

Smithsonian art museum’s courtyard by Norman Foster

From the heart of Washington, today we visit the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, home to the nation’s collection of presidential portraits, including the iconic portrait of Barack Obama.
The courtyard shared by both museums, once open to the sky, was transformed by Norman Foster through a flowing glass canopy, creating a remarkable indoor oasis designed to be enjoyed as an extension of the museum experience, beyond the exhibition galleries themselves.
In this spectacular space, fountains and trees take center stage, while beneath their shade, Gas chairs provide the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or lose yourself in a book.
We are delighted to see how the Gas chair, designed by Jesús Gasca more than twenty-five years ago, continues to evolve and find its place in such iconic projects as this one.
The Smithsonian Institution occupies the former United States Patent Building, once described by the poet Walt Whitman as ‘the noblest of Washington buildings’. Built between 1836 and 1867, the Patent Building is the finest example of Greek Revival architecture in the United States and a celebrated part of the capital’s urban fabric. Now designated as a National Historic Landmark, the building was rescued from impending demolition in 1958 by President Eisenhower, who transferred it to the Smithsonian Institution for use as the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The enclosure of the building’s grand central courtyard was prompted by a desire to transform the public’s experience of the Smithsonian’s galleries and provide the Institution with one of the largest event spaces in Washington.

The space has become a plaza for visitors of the Musem and locals that want some quality time.

This a true space, a space full of life every day, a space that requires a durable strong chair with style.

The enclosed courtyard forms the centrepiece of this retrofit project, which also included the redesign of the galleries with contemporary interactive displays, the addition of a conservation laboratory, an auditorium and greatly increased exhibition space. Visitors can enter the surrounding galleries from the courtyard, and out of museum hours the space regularly hosts a variety of social events, including concerts and public performances. Designed to do ‘the most with the least’, the fluid-form, fully glazed roof canopy develops structural and environmental themes first explored in the design of the roof of the Great Court at the British Museum, bathing the courtyard with natural light.

Gas armchair

The acclaimed Gas chair is an innovative design in which Jesús Gasca has poured all his creative experience. His attention for the health of our back inspired him to design a backrest surface that provides optimal ergonomics: a hyperbolic paraboloid that hugs our back and places the spine in its best position. For the seat, he has created an organic surface, with curves that facilitate circulation. To support these surfaces, he has designed a lightweight aluminium structure with fluid shapes that give the chair its distinctive character. The result is an extraordinarily comfortable chair.

The Draper

The Draper

Through the work of Barcelona-based studio ADC & Tuneu, today we bring you The Draper, a project that blends rental living with the concept of coworking. Located next to Beaufort Park in London, the development responds to the growing demand for rental homes centred on quality, connection and convenience.
The shared amenities include the Dear Coco café, a landscaped roof terrace on level 9, a state-of-the-art gym and a coworking area, where STUA Laclasica chairs with arms play a key role. The result is a warm interior, bold in its use of colour, with a distinctive identity that invites people to meet, work and connect.
Aaron David Clarke, Founder of ADC & Tuneu, says, “At The Draper, our intention was to design amenity spaces that feel like a natural extension of the home. Rather than treating each function in isolation, we focused on how people move through their day, creating a sequence of spaces that are connected through a shared material palette, warmth and texture. The result is an environment that supports work, wellbeing and socialising in a way that feels intuitive and genuinely liveable.”
ADC & Tuneu redefine rental living with new amenities at The Draper. Thoughtfully designed rental homes in the heart of London
ADC & Tuneu is an interior architecture and design studio renowned for creating spaces defined by a deep sensitivity to craftsmanship, material expression, and storytelling.

Laloma House

your home in Abdalajís

We are just back from a weekend at El Caminito del Rey, a spectacular 8km walkway suspended along the vertical walls of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, in Málaga. It’s famous for having been one of the most dangerous paths in the world, with wooden walkways more than 100m above the Guadalhorce River.

We stayed in the heart of the Valle de Abdalajís, at Laloma, a house thoughtfully designed for the traveler’s wellbeing by Lícua, true admirers of STUA.

The large shared space reflects this perfectly: Onda stools in the kitchen, a solid oak Petal table with Laclásica chairs in the dining area, and in the living space, a Costura sofa, Calma armchair, and Pausa tables.

The Caminito del Rey has very extreme temperatures, so after a long walk, a cozy retreat like this house—along with its air conditioning—is truly appreciated.

Ruters

A SPANISH DINER

There is no more diverse audience than that of a roadside restaurant. At Ruters, solo travelers, families, truck drivers, tourists, and workers on the move all converge. People who share nothing in common except a brief pause along the road.

Inspired by the American diners, Stone Designs has created a project conceived for heavy use. The result is a highly functional space that, at the same time, has a warm personality, like the Globus chair: durable, versatile, and full of character.

Location: Abejar, Soria

Ate Home Bilbao

Atehome in Bilbao

Today, in collaboration with Atehome, we bring you the meticulous renovation of this flat in Bilbao. The result is a project that has highlighted the space’s original features, with a unifying theme: walnut wood, a refined finish that also complements the original flooring.

One of the most special spaces in the house is the dining room, which is accessed through a large wooden archway. Inside, chrome-finished Gas chairs upholstered in cognac-coloured leather surround the elegant 100×240 cm Petal table.

Making the most of the spacious layout, a small home office has been added next to the window, completed with a self-return Gas chair.

The kitchen features Globus chairs around a small Zero table and Globus stools at the counter.

The photographs, taken by Biderbost Photo, showcase the careful coordination of our designs and the harmony of the final result.

Home Office

The ample dining space allows to include a discrete home office with Gas chairs in the same finish so that they all blend.
