Smithsonian
From the heart of Washington, today we visit the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, home to the nation’s collection of presidential portraits, including the iconic portrait of Barack Obama. The courtyard shared by both museums, once open to the sky, was transformed by Norman Foster through a flowing glass canopy, creating a remarkable indoor oasis designed to be enjoyed as an extension of the museum experience, beyond the exhibition galleries themselves. In this spectacular space, fountains and trees take center stage, while beneath their shade, Gas chairs provide the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or lose yourself in a book. We are delighted to see how the Gas chair, designed by Jesús Gasca more than twenty-five years ago, continues to evolve and find its place in such iconic projects as this one. SEE PROJECT.
The Draper London
Through the work of Barcelona-based studio ADC & Tuneu, today we bring you The Draper, a project that blends rental living with the concept of coworking. Located next to Beaufort Park in London, the development responds to the growing demand for rental homes centred on quality, connection and convenience. The shared amenities include the Dear Coco café, a landscaped roof terrace on level 9, a state-of-the-art gym and a coworking area, where STUA Laclasica chairs with arms play a key role. The result is a warm interior, bold in its use of colour, with a distinctive identity that invites people to meet, work and connect. SEE PROJETC

Focus on Sapporo storage
Sapporo is a simple and ingenious storage system. It consists of a single module that can be stacked from one to six units high. The cabinet is always white and can be fitted with optional sliding doors. Its name evokes the snow of the Olympic city of Sapporo in Japan. The Sapporo module stands on a white lacquered steel base. Each shelf has an aluminum beam along the front edge to prevent the shelves from sagging. This beam also serves as a guide rail for the sliding doors.The doors can be made of glass or wood. The wooden doors are reversible: for example, oak doors are walnut on the reverse side; one door, two finishes. SEE SAPPORO

Discover a house around a patio
Casa Nido. Today, together with Iterare Arquitectos, we present a truly unique project in the city of Valencia. A restored corner that has been brought back to life, featuring an interior that opens up to the Mediterranean light. The entire home faces its courtyard — a true luxury in the city center — furnished with Calma armchairs. The kitchen area also opens onto this patio, featuring a Zero table and Laclásica chairs. Finding your rental in Abdalajís
We are just back from a weekend at El Caminito del Rey, a spectacular 8km walkway suspended along the vertical walls of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, in Málaga. It’s famous for having been one of the most dangerous paths in the world, with wooden walkways more than 100m above the Guadalhorce River. We stayed in the heart of the Valle de Abdalajís, at Laloma, a house thoughtfully designed for the traveler’s wellbeing by Lícua, true admirers of STUA. The large shared space reflects this perfectly: Onda stools in the kitchen, a solid oak Petal table with Laclásica chairs in the dining area, and in the living space, a Costura sofa, Calma armchair, and Pausa tables. Ruters, eating in a spanish diner
There is no more diverse audience than that of a roadside restaurant. At Ruters, solo travelers, families, truck drivers, tourists, and workers on the move all converge. People who share nothing in common except a brief pause along the road. Inspired by the American diners, Stone Designs has created a project conceived for heavy use. The result is a highly functional space that, at the same time, has a warm personality, like the Globus chair: durable, versatile, and full of character. Location: Abejar, Soria. Discover a cruise full of design
Today, together with Smyril Line, we invite you on a unique journey: a cruise across the North Atlantic that calls at three ports shaped by wind and cliffs—Hirtshals in Denmark, Seyðisfjörður in Iceland, and Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands. STUA carries within it a love for everything Scandinavian, for a culture that values functional, clean design connected to nature. That is why we are so proud of our collaboration with the Smyril Line P/F group, which has led us to furnish the Brandan and Hafnia hotels, and now the Norröna cruise ship. A ferry whose panoramic lounge and cabins feature Libera armchairs in the seating areas, and Gas chairs at the dinner table in Laterna Magica restaurant. How to reduce noise in your room with style
Satellite is a set of four acoustic panels with different organic shapes, designed to be composed on the wall. With them, we can create our own balanced layout, adapted to our space. The panels use an advanced open-cell sound‑absorbing foam. But Satellite is more than a technical solution: Satellite brings rhythm, texture, and silence. Its singular shapes transform the acoustics of a space without sacrificing aesthetics. This space allows us to see that the shapes of the Eclipse coffee tables and the panels are the same, establishing a dialogue between them. Eclipse is a collection of light tables, with slender legs, that can be combined to create your own harmonious arrangement. SEE SATELLITE
Mediterráneo à la carte
Today we bring you Mediterráneo, a restaurant and events venue in Yecla with over 40 years of history and considered a city icon. A family-run business that reinvents and updates itself without losing its Mediterranean roots. The project by Guerrero Estudio is based on a complete demolition and redefines the space to create a new atmosphere in which lighting, furniture, and textures generate a contemporary mood. One of Mediterráneo’s key pieces is the Globus chair, chosen in oak wood with an upholstered seat and used both in the restaurant and in the large hall that can host up to 300 guests. Lightweight, stackable, and easy to move. The tables are mostly Zero and Petal models in different round formats, along with many square Zero tables that can be joined together for large groups. Light and architecture
We bring you these offices from Valencia, designed by the team at Barq Estudio in collaboration with Val Office. The project features spacious work-spaces designed to convey a sense of calm. These fluid environments help boost the team’s motivation and focus. The meeting rooms are clad in oak and feature the Gas self-return chair, which was chosen for its sleek design and excellent ergonomics. A dining room in walnut
Today, in collaboration with Atehome, we bring you the meticulous renovation of this flat in Bilbao. The result is a project that has highlighted the space’s original features, with a unifying theme: walnut wood, a refined finish that also complements the original flooring. One of the most special spaces in the house is the dining room, which is accessed through a large wooden archway. Inside, chrome-finished Gas chairs upholstered in cognac-coloured leather surround the elegant 100x240 cm Petal table. Making the most of the spacious layout, a small home office has been added next to the window, completed with a self-return Gas chair. The kitchen features Globus chairs around a small Zero table and Globus stools at the counter. From Bilbao, we bring you this high-end kitchen, designed and crafted by the Marina team for their most discerning clients. The island features a thick, bevelled marble worktop and undulating wooden sides, with Onda stools integrated into the design. The kitchen and stools complement each other perfectly as both designs incorporate curved lines, bringing this bright and unique kitchen to life. SEE ONDA
Aticcook in Denia
Today, we present a unique project: a restaurant that fuses Mediterranean cuisine with exceptional design. Situated in the penthouse of the Pepe Cabrera furniture shop in Denia, the Aticcook restaurant offers a unique dining experience. New tall Petal table
This is the new tall Petal table, a Jesús Gasca and Jon Gasca design. Finally, a high table that, thanks to its three petal-shaped legs, looks beautiful from any angle. The table comes in these formats: round of Ø80, Ø100 and Ø120 cm, and oval measuring 100 x 240 cm, which has two sets of legs. Thanks to its harmonious design and 100 cm height, this table can be used surrounded by stools, such as Onda or Globus, or it can be used alone for a coffee break or short meetings. New life for an old Renault garage
Today, we present the transformation of the former Renault garage in Amsterdam. Designed by Sheryl Leysner, the interior has been renovated to create an intimate atmosphere with soft lighting and a variety of textures to convey a sense of relaxation. Curves celebrated
Today we bring you an inspiring image, a project for a single-family villa with an entrance area that leads to two galleries. The centrepiece of this entrance area is a round Petal table made from walnut wood. Viraje in Mallorca
The Viraje team, creators of Ubiko houses, opens its headquarters in the historic center of Palma de Mallorca. A workspace that exudes warmth and captures the essence of the homes they build. The project has been furnished with some classics from the STUA collection in cognac tones that complement the oak used in the architecture. We are going to the Oscars!
We are now in the midst of the Oscars race, and the current favourite for Best Picture is Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, widely considered a masterpiece. We love that the production features Costura armchairs for one of its final scenes. Who knows? As it is also nominated for Best Production Design, we may soon be able to say that we have won an Oscar!

Today, we present a project designed by the InteriorLab team in Dubai. True to their Sevillian roots, they have named this home 'Triana', perhaps to invoke a little magic in this big city. The end result is a series of warm spaces featuring wooden floors and walls, including a dining room with Laclasica chairs, a bar area complete with Globus stools and a bedroom with Libera armchairs. In a house by Viraje
In the heart of Valencia, we discover the home office of Raúl Hinarejos, co-founder of the Viraje architecture studio. His work philosophy has a contemporary outlook that understands architecture as a constant dialogue between design and execution. Viraje has also created Ubiko, the firm that turns its projects into high-end industrialised homes. This passion for a job well done is evident in the small details of this space, which perfectly complements the subtle shapes of the Libera armchair in walnut. SEE LIBERA
Inspiring art
Today we present the space created by Eulogio Sánchez in the center of Santander. It is a flexible space that accommodates work, creation, and even his own art collection. Carbajo Hermanos architects have renovated an old performing arts school with a subtle project that incorporates muted colours into the architecture and furniture. These images show the inaugural exhibition, in which the Costura sofas in sophisticated powdery colours and the Egoa chairs in light ash wood blend seamlessly. SEE THE PROJECT.

Interior designer and Veluto founder Iñigo Iriarte presents this living room in San Sebastián. It is an eclectic space that blends different design trends to create a harmonious result. A House in Marbella by Marcio Kogan
Overlooking the sea from the hills of Marbella, Casa Mashrabiya is a contemporary architectural masterpiece. Designed by the influential Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan, this unique villa is inspired by traditional Arabic latticework, creating interesting interactions between light and space. The project features a continuous veranda that connects the interior with the exterior, the perfect setting for lightweight designs such as the Calma armchair. The interior, designed by the InteriorLab team, features other STUA designs, such as the Solapa tables in the living room, Globus stools in the kitchen, and Meseta tables in the cinema room. Calma is a state of mind
Today, we present the new Calma indoor armchair. The main difference from the outdoor version is the slightly longer suspended seat, which makes it more upright and perfect for watching television or reading. As it is designed for indoor use, it also features an even more comfortable memory-foam seat. What about fabrics? You can upholster the Calma armchair in any of our textiles. Both the indoor and outdoor armchairs have the same metal frame. So, if you want to convert your outdoor armchair into an indoor one, simply purchase the upholstered cover and foam. Around the pool
In this project near Sitges, the team at RARDO-Architects has designed a family home with some mid-levels that gently emerge as a solid ensemble that becomes more transparent as it rises above ground level. These spaces are oriented creating a view into the garden, with large concrete overhangs that offer shelter and protect the interior from excess sunlight, allowing lighting but not heat to enter. The house exudes a Mediterranean and open spirit. At STUA, we particularly like the spacious dining room, which opens out onto the outside area, that features the Lau table and Laclasica chairs by Jesús Gasca.
4 Marroniers
In collaboration with Etat de Siège in Lausanne, today we bring you the common areas of this residence. An open and generous space that seeks to convey values of trust and dialogue. The project features Costura sofas, Libera armchairs and Solapa tables. Today, interior designer Alexandra Kidd and stylist Claire Delmar, bring us this spectacular penthouse. The home includes a terrace that overlooks Sydney Harbour and features interiors that have been recognised by Australian Design Review magazine. Soft tones form a luminous base, while marble, wood and upholstered furniture, such as the Nube armchair, provide moments of contrast and surprise, creating an eclectic and cheerful residence. K5 WINERY
From the small Gipuzkoan village of Aia, 300 metres above the sea, we present Bodega K5, a one-of-a-kind project designed by the architects Alonso & Balaguer. This winery produces Txakoli, a unique white wine that captures the essence of the Cantabrian Sea in a bottle. The tasting room, which overlooks the vineyards, is furnished with Globus chairs. The world of burger restaurants is changing. The emerging brand Atomic Burgers, which originated in Oviedo, is now expanding to Gijón. Created by the Stone Design team, it is a vibrant project that surprisingly mixes the colour red with walnut. SEE GLOBUS

New Lau tables
Since its launch, the Lau table has been a silent success, thanks to its warm and welcoming design. Now Lau comes in new sizes for both home and restaurant use: 80 x 80, 100 x 100, 120 x 120 and 80 x 120 cm. These tables are finished in a textured matt black laminate, which makes them more resistant and durable. In the picture, we present the 100 x 100 cm Lau table and the black Laclasica chairs. THE POOL IS OPEN
The new Hotel Kimpton Los Monteros in Marbella has been designed by El Equipo Creativo from Barcelona, and features a swimming pool with a vibrant atmosphere. The terrace around the pool features Pausa outdoor tables, the perfect accompaniment to the sun loungers. They are tall and, with three legs, they never wobble. This is the perfect use for our small table: Don't spill our cocktail !. SEE PAUSA
A FARMHOUSE FROM 1574
From the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, today we bring you a farmhouse dating from 1574, which has been restored by the Hilatura studio in Bilbao, respecting and enhancing its status as a listed building. “The two sides that generate the back garden were found to be in a state of disrepair, which allowed us to open up the large window and give these elevations a more contemporary feel”. 100% Natura fabrics
Today, we are delighted to introduce the second fabric we have added to our collection: Camira Main Line Flax. The reason why we have chosen this fabric is that it is 100% natural. We all know that natural fibres are the healthiest, that's why we have selected this fabric that mixes wool (75%) with linen (25%) and nothing else. An allnatural, beautifully soft fabric, which is also fully biodegradable and compostable. It is produced on looms in the north of the UK, home to the finest sustainable wool. STUA has picked three shades of grey and three shades of camel, which express a natural colour range. Thanks to its composition, the fabric is highly flame retardant and meets the demanding English Crib5 standard. This fabric is, of course, PFAS-free and suitable for all STUA designs. We feel that this fabric reflects our brand's timeless nature. The pictures show it upholstering Gas chairs in our showroom. SEE GAS.
Outdoor Onda stools
Our popular Onda stool is suitable for outdoor use. Its ergonomic propylene seat, combined with a stainless steel frame, is perfect for your terrace or garden. Of course, items designed for outdoor use are extremely durable for indoors. So if you're looking for the sturdiest stool, this is your best choice. Want to know more? We can tell you that the Onda has a triple injection: a resistant inner core, a polypropylene shell and a non-slip silicone seat. Let’s have a coffee together
Today we present the project for the new cafeteria in the STUA showroom. The centrepiece of the space is an island made of Paraná marble. A stone that evokes mountainous landscapes with a touch of moss and that reflects the green that surrounds us. Vescom fabrics for a sustainable future
We continue our search for new recycled materials for a sustainable world. Together with Vescom, STUA presents a new collection of fabrics produced from post-consumer plastic bottles. The bottles are collected locally, before being separated by type and colour, processed and converted into high-performance technical yarns. These are used to create Foster, Auckland and Norfolk, a collection of fabrics with a strong presence and pleasant to touch. These new fabrics are Oeko-Tex and have great technical performance: Crib5 flame retardant, machine washable at 60º, etc. Now, you are also part of the change, every time you choose one of these fabrics, you remove plastic from our environment. You help to have a better world.

Our new headquarters has a floor dedicated to the contract world. A flexible space that shows the versatility of our designs in a world of creative culture. A conversation area with Nube armchairs gives way to a workspace proposal that even includes prototypes we are working on. Peeking outside
The calendar tells us that spring is just around the corner. Days are getting longer. Today we bring you a house in Kortezubi, designed by the Bilbao Interior Design team, which has Calma armchairs and Pausa tables for its exterior. A space for leisure and relaxation. Calma is made of stainless steel and has a soft outdoor upholstery for extraordinary comfort. Pausa, with its three legs, never limps, and has a practical height of 50 cm. New indoor Pausa table
The Pausa table collection now includes an indoor version. These indoor tables are finished in our classic black colour. The top has the STUA’s characteristic bevelled edge. The top surface is made of new generation melamine, created from resins, which provides hardness, resistance to heat, scratching and cleaning products. And it has an attractive natural texture that conceals possible marks. Thanks to its black MDF core, the edge ages elegantly. The Pausa table is specially practical because, in addition to the classic height of 40 cm, it has 50 cm legs. These legs are made of steel and are partially concealed under the tabletop. The Pausa table is discreet and elegant, without seeking the spotlight. SEE PAUSA
Canalejas Madrid
The Canalejas Centre, located next to the Plaza del Sol in Madrid, has become a symbol of luxury. A project that takes care of its clients with a reception and VIP area furnished with Costura sofas and armchairs, Libera armchairs and Pausa tables. Architecture: Estudio Lamela. The art of José Luis Cremades
At STUA we believe in the marriage between art and design. That is why, for the inaugural exhibition of our new showroom, we counted on the work of the Valencian artist José Luis Cremades, whose works fit so well with our designs. José Luis Cremades constructs abstract works with a unique presence and meaning, which offer the viewer a space for contemplation and reflection. All the works are available thanks to the Luis Adelantado Gallery. Come and discover this exhibition entitled “Trompe l’oeil”, in our showroom in Astigarraga until the 31st of April. SEE THE SHOW
Bespoke furniture for Laboral Kutxa bank
For the first time we present a custom-made furniture project. This is the refurbishment and interior design of more than 300 offices of Laboral Kutxa. An innovative project for bank offices, designed to convey warmth and intimacy while incorporating the latest technologies. The initial design by the 3G Office team has been implemented by Mosel&Arkaia and STUA under the supervision of Laboral Kutxa. Furniture designed specifically for this project includes: reception desk, active waiting areas, screens, workstations with ergonomic desks, acoustic panels, etc. All this unique furniture is combined with classics from our collection in customised finishes: Onda, Globus, Gas, Sapporo, Libera, Zero… This work has been made possible thanks to the passion of the Laboral Kutxa and Mosel&Arkaia teams. Today we present the renovation of this apartment in Getxo, designed by Andrea Diego. A space that breathes warmth through its tones and woods. The living area uses Eclipse coffee tables and one Libera armchair in walnut. As Libera has removable covers, Andrea chose the machine-washable fabric Crevin Gaudi 5. In our new headquarters in Astigarraga, the ground floor is dedicated to the home. This project was created in collaboration with Guerrero Estudio, and here we present some of its environments, so that you can have a sneak peek and come and visit us. Our intention is not to participate in more trade fairs, but to focus on this project, which we believe is a more sustainable model. A space that allows you to get to know STUA in depth. New STUA Headquarters
Today we present our most special project: our own house, the result of three years of work, building and creating the interiors of our new headquarters. It is a three-storey building located next to the STUA factory, overlooking a small bamboo forest and a river. Its architecture reflects the spirit that guides the company: the search for timeless design. The building is a project by Jesús Gasca and Jon Gasca, designed so that the interiors breathe with the surrounding nature. The large façade has huge windows framed by black wooden slats finished with the Japanese Yakisugi technique. Natural materials that are in dialogue with the bamboo forest. With this project, we want you to get to know us better. We want to inspire you with a variety of creative proposals, with one floor dedicated to showing residential spaces, and another to the contract world. Apartamento in Madrid
When it came to planning the renovation of this flat in Madrid, the Idearch Studio team opted for a pale, warm colour palette. A space that conveys calm and serenity. The kitchen bar has Onda stools, and opens up to the dining room, with different Laclasica chairs. In the living area, the Libera armchair in walnut stands out, paired with Eclipse tables. A new generation of Gas chairs has arrived. The iconic chair design by Jesús Gasca is expanding its collection. Now, Gas with wheels and Gas with auto-return can be without arms. So now there are six different typologies. These new frames are lighter, while maintaining the renowned comfort of the Gas chair. Why? These new Gas chairs do not have arms that could hit the table frame. They are ideal for desks, such as those found in hotel rooms. Or when you are looking for the lightest chair for your home. New Deneb console
Today we introduce a new Jesus Gasca design: the new Deneb console table, with a generous 40 x 120 cm top and a height of 73 cm. Deneb console table comes in a single finish, completely black: with the structure lacquered in epoxy and the top in the new high resistance black laminate that STUA presents as a novelty this year. STUA in the new Almodóvar film
The Room Next Door is the new film by Pedro Almodóvar, and was shot, among other locations, in New York and in Villa Szoke, in San Lorenzo de Escorial. It is in this villa where Almodóvar and Carlota Casado's team have created the house that becomes another character in the film, where the third act of the film takes place. A house that brings peace and serenity. The office includes the Egoa chair upholstered in a burnt orange colour, and the library has Libera armchairs upholstered in a vibrant yellow. We are happy to see that the film has won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Congratulations to the whole team, thank you for having us, and for sending us photos of the set. SEE EGOA

Today we bring you the Pedroche dental wellness clinic in Madrid. The project seeks to maximize the space and natural light with a single common space, bringing a consistency of colours and materials throughout the premises. STUA designs are mixed throughout the different areas: Nube armchairs in the waiting area, Gas task chairs in the offices and reception paired with Globus and Laclasica, and a Deneb table with benches in the private dining area. New Petal table
Petal is the new table from STUA. This delicate table design has unique petal-shaped legs. The top can be oval, with two petal legs, measuring 100 x 200 or 100 x 240 cm; or round of Ø120 cm, with three smaller legs. This is a new design in plywood, which joins other STUA designs, created with the same technique and care over the years. Petal is an evocative table with a great presence. GO TO PETAL

In the heart of Barcelona, architect Juli Pérez-Catalá has transformed an old metal forge into a cosy family home; rescuing elements from the original construction such as the high ceilings with Catalan vault and the metal trusses. Mint & walnut
This apartment in the center of San Sebastian has been refurbished by the Motel Interiorismo team, bringing a fresh approach to a classic architecture. While the original white mouldings have been respected, the walls have been painted in a light mint tone. 100 years of Eduardo Chillida
The 10th of January 2024 has marked one hundred years since the birth of Eduardo Chillida, one of the most popular and influential Spanish artists from the 20th century. With his roots in the Basque Country, his arms embraced horizons around the world, creating unique settings to bring society together. Chillida Leku Museum opened in year 2000. This is the place where Chillida developed many of his works before it was a museum. We have collaborated with Chillida family, and now Hauser & Wirth, to make this environment, where his work was rooted, the meaningful place to discover his oeuvre. Custom Satellite panels
Satellite is composed of four acoustic panels with different sizes and organic shapes. Inside each panel we use a Basf open cell foam created specially to maximize noise reduction. When making an interior design you can choose to have all four panels in one fabric; or if you want to go bold, you can mix textiles from the STUA collection, and create your own bedspoke set. Here you have some beautiful and creative combinations. STUA also proposes a set that mixes four different Kvadrat textiles. Park Seo-Bo Foundation, Seoul
We bring you today this small and beautiful project in Seoul. Gizi is the gallery-studio-residence of artist Park Seo-Bo in his hometown. Park Seo-Bo, as we can read in the New York Times, is a key figure in the Dansaekhwa (“monochrome painting”) movement, a merging of Korean and international influences. The space includes STUA Laclasica chairs in the private meeting rooms. While preparing this newsletter, we have known the sad news about his passing this last weekend, RIP. Performance textiles
The STUA textile collection has all types of fabrics. Four of those textiles are specially strong and are our “Easy Clean + Anti stain” options. Crafted in Barcelona by Crevin with the best local materials, free of PFAS. If you use one of our Crevin fabrics, you will be able to easy clean most of the stains. Modernist Barcelona
Casa Burés is an emblematic modernist building, close to the Arc de Triomf in Barcelona, designed by Francisco Berenguer, a close collaborator of Antoni Gaudí. A few days ago, thanks to a viral video of Rosalía imitating her partner, we were able to discover its interior, furnished with a dining area that uses Lau table surrounded by Laclasica chairs. We should not need an excuse to rest ourselves, but if the doctor prescribes it,... Putting your legs up every day for 20 minutes benefits our health, as we change the postural axis and helps circulation. While sitting on Calma armchair, the ottoman prolongs the curve of our body and helps us to relax with our feet up. In the Eixample, Barcelona's most central district, Rardo Architects have renovated this 1950s flat. The idea behind this refurbishment was to maximise natural light by opening up the spaces. The open space includes a Malena armchair upholstered in blue. SEE MALENA
New Pausa tables
Pausa is a collection of round tables, with essential lines, for both indoor and outdoor use. It has been designed together with Calma armchair, in black and white. Pausa has three legs, so it never wobbles on uneven outdoor floors. The legs, made of stainless steel, have three possible heights: 40, 45 and 50 cm. The tabletops, made of outdoor HPL, can be of: 40, 60 and 80 cm. Legs and tops can be combined as desired to create your own table. Designing Calma
Jon Gasca explains us the details of Calma. Calma lounge is the result of the search for a light, weatherproof, outdoor comfort. For the frame we use the strongest and most durable material: stainless steel. The armrests are flat, so we can leave our phone or drink. The arms have a curved shape that embraces us; and are made of black or white HPL that match the structure. The foam is Dryfeel, which allows water to pass through and dries quickly. The fabrics of Calma are made of polypropylene, which is the best material for outdoor use. The supporting sling is hidden inside the upholstery and is made of resistant Batyline netting. Calma has a headrest attached to the upholstery. This cushion can be used for a more active position, such as reading, and pulled back for a more relaxed attitude. The simple ottoman has a hidden inner base made of HPL, so it can be used as a footrest, as stool or even as a table. Calma is stackable, both with and without upholstery. As you can see, we have tried to make a different kind of armchair that makes comfort paramount. SEE CALMA.

Calma
Today we bring you the first images of the new Calma outdoor armchair. Calma is the ingenious combination of a hammock and an upholstered armchair. The most characteristic feature of Calma is its comfort: the canvas works as sling that adapts to our body, while the soft upholstery allows us to take a very relaxed position, in which we can rest our head. It can also be equipped with a footrest. Calma, on a technical level, is made with great attention to detail: it has an expressive stainless steel frame, it is stackable, with HPL armrests, a Dryfeel foam that allows water to pass through, and highly resistant acrylic or polypropylene fabrics. The evocative images of her trip, allow us to feel the magic of the creative moment. 20 years of Gas
The year 2000 was an important turning point in the history of STUA: the presentation of the Gas chair. A very dear project for its designer, Jesús Gasca, in which he invested 14 years. He even gave the chair half of his last-name to baptize it as "Gas". The chair, we can already say, has become a design classic: thanks to its lightness, its ergonomics and the beauty of its aluminum structure. In fact, it was awarded as the most comfortable chair of the year. Today the chair is more current than ever, it even has a swivel version. SEE GAS

Creating new classics
Away from the rush, the designer and founder of STUA, Jesús Gasca, always wants his designs to be durable, furniture that improves our surroundings thanks to a greater comfort and elengance. The Laclasica chair was created by carrying out in-depth research into three-dimensional molded plywood, finding new ways to join this plywood with solid wood, and how to lighten and strengthen it with an aluminum core. Josep Mora, RIP
Today we bring to you bad news: Josep Mora, the designer from Barcelona, has passed. We will always remember him as the smart guy who would look at design in the most humble way. He was a key person in STUA’s history, he designed our first meaningful chair: Egoa. Josep was the type of human that would move to Rwanda to help the disabled children from war. He would use any chair he could find on the street to create unique wheelchairs, and that would change the life of those kids. He even created a handbook so that local people could continue his work. RIP

This old chicken coop in Santa Barbara is now the space of Goop headquarters, Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand for wellness, travel, food, beauty, style, and work. The interior design has been conceived by Melanie Burstin from Homepolish together with Goop’s creative director, Brittany Pattner. The project has kept as much of the original structure, making the space chic and simple,including the sleek design of Gas chairs, some of the first items to arrive into the space. Discovered in Vogue Living, a project with Design Within Reach.
New church in Delft, Holland
Van Hoogevest Architecten (from Amersfoort) have just restored the “Nieuwe Kerk” in Delft, a Dutch historic building with Gothic style from 1496. Their forward thinking and vision has melanged this unique architecture with STUA’s Laclasica chair to create a space that is timeless. This is why Jesus Gasca design is called Laclasica. This project has been possible thanks to SV Collection, the STUA partner in Holland.

House in Sitges
This 150 years old town house in the center of Sitges has been refurbished by RARDO-Architects, respecting the warm texture of the original raw materials. The project includes the new Deneb table in XL size of 90 x 240 cm with black frame and walnut top and matching Globus chairs.

STUA launches a new one-seat sofa, of 116cm, for small spaces. The seat module of this sofa (100cm) can be added to a regular sofa of 216cm to make a 316cm sofa. Now Costura becomes modular! The sofa on the image features Tundra 003, the new soft-touch textile, in off-white.

Apartment in Barcelona
This apartment in Barcelona, has been refurbished by Colombo and Serboli Architecture, CaSA. The Barcelona studio renovated the previously dark apartment, to suit the client – a cycling enthusiast. A wide STUA Costura sofa and ottoman are the centerpiece of the living area, just across the open kitchen. “The aim has been to create a very masculine yet sophisticated home, using a neutral palette and focusing on different textures”, explained the architects.

The home by the forest
When this family discovered that a son and two daughters were diagnosed with autism, they decided to make a change. Together with architect Jack Hawkins and interior designer Cheryl Chenault they have created their new home by lake Tahoe. The large dining area melts nature and design, featuring the comfortable Egoa chairs.
The dream house
The Case Study House 22, also known as Stahl House, by the architect, Pierre Koenig, is one of the most renowned projects of contemporary architecture. An open house that overlooks the vast city of Los Angeles. STUA, together with Design Within Reach, has now created a new interior design with some of the most iconic designs of the collection. A new blending of design and architecture for this landmark building.
Industrial Loft
When Brooke Hammel and Jose Alvarez moved into this loft in Williamsburg, they hired Homepolish's interior designer Jae Joo to turn their tastes into reality. It is great to see that, effortlessly, the Gas chair melts into this mood.

Laclasica revisited by Diane Moreau
Designer Diane Moreau has reinterpreted STUA Laclasica chair by Jesus Gasca. The "Ori" chair was inspired by the ancient Japanese art form of origami. True to its inspiration from the Eastern art of folding paper, a piece of matte turquoise leather was cut, folded, and sewn to craft the 186 petals that form the “Dwarf Bedding Dahlia” flower, a symbol of inner strength and creativity.
GU San Sebastian
