At the end of the Nineteenth Century, Prim Square or Plaza Prim in Spanish, used to be a meeting place in the old part of Poblenou. It was where the fishermen, some countryfolk and workers from the factories, which started up as a result of the recent industrial revolution in Catalunya, lived. It was also the point of departure for the "Icarianos" in the search of the promised land in far away America. They lived alongside each other with the prosaic "porrón" of wine, the fried fish of each day and the dreams of a better life, all so prominent in their spiritual as well as material life...
